Moving from Vipps Checkout to Kustom Checkout

Overview of the switch from Vipps Checkout to Kustom Checkout

Kustom has acquired Vipps MobilePay Checkout and becomes a recommended checkout solution for Vipps MobilePay. As part of this partnership, both companies' products will be specifically optimized for each other. In turn, Vipps MobilePay will be available as a payment method to a larger number of new merchants across the Nordics.

This means that if you are currently a Vipps Checkout merchant, Kustom will become your new checkout provider going forward. You can read more about Kustom at kustom.co.

Vipps will be available as a payment method in Kustom Checkout β€” that is not changing. What is changing is the checkout solution itself.

Vipps Checkout will be deprecated on April 30, 2027. This means that to continue offering Vipps as a payment method in your store after that date, you will need to have switched to Kustom Checkout.


What to expect

Kustom will support you through the switch and make the process as smooth as possible. Here is what you can expect:

  • The timing of your switch will depend on your platform and technical setup.

  • Kustom will keep you informed throughout the process with updates and guidance.

  • You will not be left to figure this out on your own β€” Kustom will be there to help every step of the way.


What you need to do right now

Nothing. You do not need to take any action until you hear from Kustom. When it is time for your store to switch, you will receive clear guidance on what to do next.
