Overview

Satispay integrates with Kustom checkout to provide shoppers with one of Italy's most trusted payment options. Here's what you need to know:

  • Shoppers can select Satispay directly in the Kustom checkout interface

  • Satispay offers benefits such as immediate payment confirmation and high conversion rates in the Italian market.

What is Satispay?

Satispay is an independent payment circuit authorized by the Bank of Italy, founded in 2013. Rather than relying on credit or debit cards, shoppers top up a virtual wallet within Satispay, and payments are made from that wallet balance β€” transferring funds from the shopper's wallet to the merchant's.

With over 3.5 million users, Satispay has become a well-established payment option in Italy. It is an important method to offer for any merchant targeting Italian shoppers.

When will this payment method become available in my checkout?

Satispay is available as an opt-in payment method for Italian transactions. To enable Satispay, please reach out to our support with the following information: your merchant ID, that you want to add Satispay for the Italian market, and the date you want it added. We will add it as soon as we can for you.

Do I need to enable this payment method manually?

Yes, Satispay requires manual activation from Kustom. Contact our support to request Satispay to be enabled for your account, and it will be added for eligible Italian shoppers.

Fees, pricing, and settlement

Will there be any changes to my prices or additional fees?

How will settlements work when shoppers pay with this method?

When a shopper completes a payment using Satispay, the settlement process follows your existing schedule. The payment is processed in real-time, and funds are transferred to your account according to your standard settlement timeline. You will receive settlements at the same frequency as your other payment methods.

Shopper experience

How will shoppers use this payment method in checkout?

When a shopper proceeds to checkout, they will see Satispay as one of the available payment options. Here's what the experience looks like:

  1. The shopper selects Satispay from the list of payment options in the Kustom checkout

  2. They are redirected to the Satispay payment page, where they enter their mobile number or scan a QR code

  3. The shopper opens the Satispay app and confirms the payment on their smartphone

  4. The payment is processed immediately and both shopper and merchant receive confirmation

  5. The shopper is redirected back to your store and receives a confirmation message

Do shoppers need to do anything different to use this payment method?

Shoppers need to have a Satispay account with a pre-funded wallet balance. Setting up an account is free and uses the shopper's IBAN to top up their wallet β€” no credit or debit card details are required. The checkout flow is designed to be seamless and intuitive.
