3. Configure products and access

Configure your product catalog

As part of your setup you can configure the product catalog to be used in the Mobile point of sale app, if you don't intend to use the free amount feature to make your sales.

Additionally as part of the onboarding process we will create an automatic product for you to test the purchase flow called "Test Product". Feel free to remove this or replace the product catalog with your own by following the instructions below.

To setup your product catalog and start selling your products in the mobile point of sale app, you can either do so in our portal or in the app. Here's how to do so in the portal:

  • Go to the In-person payments section and open the Products tab

  • Upload products in bulk using a CSV file by clicking "Import"

  • Or add them individually using the "Add product" button

To upload products in bulk, use this CSV format—see the example file below.
Product_CSV_Example - Sheet.csv

If you want to add variants then see this example for inspiration on how to add, use the same product names but add additional columns with free text to add specific variant values, see last 2 columns of "size" and "color" as variant examples. Product_CSV_Example_variants

  • Include all required columns with data:

    • product_name

    • price_including_vat

    • vat_rate

    • currency

  • Additional columns will be stored as variant attributes with the exact names you provide.

  • We use a regular amount format, i.e 19.99 = 19.99 SEK

  • Input accurate product data for reporting purposes. Properties like SKU or Category will appear on order lines and reports.

Note: Re-uploading a CSV for the same store will delete all previous products and replace them with the new file contents.

You can also add products manually in the portal using the "Add product" button.

Manage products in the app

In the app settings you're able to quickly manage and create products on the fly by inputting the Product name & Price and optionally an EAN code & image. You can also scan EAN codes and quick add them via the barcode and camera feature.

If you require more metadata on your products, such as SKU or Purchase price, then you need to configure this from the portal view as it's not available in the app.

Assign users and access

To log in and access the app, a user must be added to your merchant account in the Kustom Portal and the User management section. Any user role can log in to the MPOS app with the same credentials used for the portal. All user roles have full access to operate the app and take payments, regardless of their portal permissions.

In the MPOS app, users can only take payments and process refunds for MPOS orders. You cannot change bank account details, merchant settings, or other account configurations through the app. For any account-level changes, please use the Kustom Portal.
