What are Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Apple Pay and Google Pay are digital wallet services that allow customers to make payments using their saved payment cards on smartphones, tablets or computers. They function like traditional card payments but offer a faster, more streamlined experience with enhanced security features.

Both services use tokenization to protect sensitive payment information. When a customer pays with Apple Pay or Google Pay, their actual card details are never shared with your business. Instead, a unique encrypted token is generated for each transaction, ensuring a secure checkout experience.

Key advantages of digital wallet payments

  • One-tap checkout reduces the time customers spend entering payment details

  • Encrypted tokens replace actual card numbers during transactions

  • Customers can store multiple cards and choose their preferred payment method at checkout

  • Works seamlessly across devices without requiring customers to re-enter information
