What does it mean to block an end customer
You can block customers from purchasing in your store using our validate order functionality.
What is order validation in Kustom Checkout?
Validation in Kustom Checkout (KCO) is an optional mechanism that allows merchants to review and approve an order before it is finalized.
It gives merchants a chance to run their own business logic against the order data at the moment the customer attempts to complete checkout. In simple terms, validation acts as a last checkpoint before an order is confirmed.
Validation is designed for scenarios where the merchant needs to make a real-time decision about whether an order should proceed, based on internal rules or systems that Kustom Checkout itself does not manage.
This is useful when you want to stop a certain type of purchases.
What can be blocked?
There are a few parameters that can be chosen to block a purchase. Below you will see two examples.
Blacklisted consumers
Block purchases from specific email addresses
Block purchases from specific shipping addresses
Block purchases from specific billing addresses
Delivery limitations
Prevent purchases when an item can’t be shipped to the provided address
Restrict shipping to certain countries, postal codes, or regions
What happens in the checkout when validation is enabled
A customer attempts to complete finalize a purchase in the checkout.
Kustom Checkout sends the order details to the merchant’s validation endpoint.
The merchant responds with either:
Approval, allowing the checkout to continue.
Denial, preventing the order from being completed.
If the validation is denied the order is not finalized.
